It’s been a while since I’ve done any logo and branding work. After developing my own art and brand I’ve kind of stuck to doing my own thing. Well some buddies of mine are starting up a sweet company and needed some logos for branded portions of their website.
The goal of Bionik Gamerz is to bring our vision of a unique gaming community environment, playing experience and custom merch together; coupled with some nifty tech where applicable. With over 10 years each, individually, in various fields related to design, development, marketing, printing and retail we look to combine our skills together in one platform.
My goal today was to begin developing multiple icons for use throughout the site. The focus today was a vault like graphic (above) and the logo for a shop section that is currently referred to as Area 53. They instantly loved the vault graphic but felt the area 53 was floating a bit too close to alien or future tech and not enough toward gaming. So tomorrow we will be revisiting and assessing the brand essence and core ideology for this particular section. Below are the initial concepts done through a method referred to as 20 in 20. The goal is to knock out 20 concepts in 20 minutes and just let your mind flow. There is a second set (below the line) that was more of an ongoing throughout the day development of ideas via communication. Hopefully tomorrow will yield better results. While I really liked the look of the Mine Craft style block 53 on wheels, there is already another “shopping cart” icon in use elsewhere on the site. C’est la vie.
